Sugar Candy Stripes

Note
Crochet multiple of 8 + 7 chains for larger size. Change color every 2 rows. Carry up each color when it need, so no need to break the yarns, it will be covered up when crocheting border. I worked 3 sc rows around the blanket for border part. I added chart of the stitch pattern of the blanket to understand easily.
Finished Size:
23.5” x 19.5” with border.
Materials (I used)
Smooth Worsted Super Soft Natural Silk Wool Fiber Baby Yarn (50g) bought from ebay
(15 WPI) fingering weight
- 2 skien of blue color. (Color A)
- 2 skien of pink color. (Color B)
- 3.25 mm crochet hook.
Gauge:
22 dc and 9 rows = 4” with 3.25 mm crochet hook.
Abbreviations:
ch = chain
sc = single crochet
dc = double crochet
sk = skip
beg = beginning
sl st = slip stitch

Pattern
With (CA) ch 132 + 3 ( 16 x 8 + 7 = 135 )
Row 1: dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in next ch 2, * ch 3, sk one ch, sc in next ch, sc in next ch 2, ch 3, sk one ch, dc in next ch 3 * repeat *to* across, dc in last st, Turn.
Row 2: ch 1, sc in 2nd dc, * ch 3, sk one dc, sc in next dc, ch 3, sk next ch 3 and one sc, 3 dc in next sc, ch 3, sc in next dc * repeat *to* across, sc in beg ch 3 top, turn.
Row 3: With (CB) ch 3, 3 dc in first ch-3 space, * ch 3, sc in next dc, ch 3, sk one dc, sc in next dc, ch 3, sk next ch 3, 3 dc in next ch-3 space * repeat *to* across, dc in beg ch 1, turn.
Row 4: ch 1, sc in 2nd dc, * ch 3, sk one dc, sc in next dc, ch 3, sk next ch 3, 3 dc in next ch-3 space, ch 3, sc in next dc * repeat *to* across, sc in beg ch 3, turn.
Row 5 – 65: Repeat 3 and 4 rows alternatively with color A and B
Last row (66): ch 1 with same color you used in previous row, *sc in next 3 sts, ch 1, sk next ch 3, 3 dc in next ch-3 space, ch 1 * repeat *to* across, sc in beg ch 3.

Border : crochet sc around evenly. 3 sc in each corner st. when you working sides. work 2 sc in one dc, 1 sc in sc, however, if it going to be tighter, you can add extra st in after 2 or 3 rows. After crocheting 3 sc rows, I worked slip st round.
Round 1: with color B
Round 2: with color A
Round 3 with color B again.
Round 4: With color B *insert the hook in next st pull up a loop through the work and the loop on the hook at once* repeat *to* around. Fasten off and weave the end.
